In order to know the ground reality of the implementation of schemes related to basic civic amenities in the urban areas, now government level officials will go to every district and collect correct information. For this, 26 officers have been made nodal officers for the special secretaries and directorates of the government, including the principal secretary, secretary and local body director of the urban development department. Along with this, districts have been allotted to all the officers. Staying in the allotted districts from July 6 to 8, these officers will conduct on-the-spot inspection of the schemes run by the Central and State Governments and submit the prepared report on this basis to the government. Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat has issued an order in this regard.

In fact, there are a total of 762 municipal bodies in the state at present. Of these, there are 17 Municipal Corporations, 200 Municipal Councils and 545 Nagar Panchayats. In all these bodies, several schemes have been implemented by the Central and State Governments to provide clean drinking water, sanitation, drainage, roads, sewers, electricity and other facilities to the citizens. Apart from this, cleanliness survey in urban areas. 2023 ODF (Double Plus) and Star rating action is also going on. That’s why the government has decided that the ground reality information should be gathered by conducting on-site inspection of these schemes. For this purpose, the government has nominated 26 officers of the government and directorate level as nodal officers and asked them to provide reports after on-site inspection of the schemes being run in all 762 municipal bodies.

These plans have to be inspected

Facilities operated under Smart City Scheme, provision of drinking water, toilets and electricity in houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), drainage system at waterlogged places, supply of pure drinking water, development of funeral sites, arrangements related to Sawan fair, Spraying and cleaning of medicines etc. for the prevention of communicable diseases, status of use of banned plastic, verification of beneficiaries of PM Swanidhi Yojana, Amrit Yojana (sewerage, park development, drinking water, green area), Swachh Bharat Mission, door to door garbage Collection and disposal, dustbins at ward level, arrangements for segregation of garbage, processing of dry waste, cleaning of water bodies, drains, ward level garbage collection, arrangement for processing by people who generate large amounts of garbage, All other schemes including scientific dumping of garbage (land).
